This wasn t a bad read by any stretch, but I m confused as to its audience Going from basic techniques to how to get your work seen in such a small number of pages was a but surprising I was interested in the artist herself, especially that she draws adult colouring books.
I was given this title to review by NetGalley and the publisher Pavillion in exchange for my honest review.British artist Mel Elliot provides aspiring creative types with a broad overview of artistic techniques, formats, and tools in this How To but also aspires to be the guiding hand for new artists to train themselves in finding and nurturing their personal style Some of the many techniques, formats, and tools featured include hand lettering, graphite pencil work, perspective, juxtaposition, c [...]
Not what I expected and not in a good way I thought this book would show me some great ideas for art and walk me through how to make it Nothing in there inspired me to think I got to make this.
If you are someone knowing that aesthetics is a part of your personality and you KNOW you are seeing things a bit differently than the others and you want to take a step in evolving your inner artist and to boost your range in the pop culture sphere, this is a book for you It can give you a hint about basic techniques and tips you need for making an art, but mostly and most importantly it invites you in SEEING things and encourages you to be your creative self, because being yourself is the only [...]
This book, which is full of pictures and very easy to read, covers quite a range of media, including collage, figure sketching, stop motion animation, and gouache however, at the same time, it makes no reference to the most important media of Western art oil, acrylics, watercolour, et cetera In other words, it introduces a lot of interesting stuff but misses out the essentials At the end of the book, the author states, If you were expecting this book to teach you how to draw, I am genuinely sorr [...]
It was fun in some chapters a motivational book for artist or people who love art To re arrange your thoughts and ideas about art specially for me as a young Arab artist, with this emptiness of art information in here, to pin and name some floating ideas I liked the Stop motion part the most, artists multiplies, collage art If I want to review this book in few words I would say good but not what I expected.
Lately I ve been coloring and really loving it It s making me want to draw and paint and do all sorts of things I ve really no idea how to do This book tells me, but it also tells me that it s most important that I have fun There are exercises, explanation of techniques, and instructions on using many different art products This book was really awesome Provided by publisher
Lots of nice photos and fun artwork adorn the pages of this how to book I think that people who are artistically inclined or have some sort of background in art will enjoy this book and find it inspiring I don t think it gives enough information for beginners though I received this book free to review from Netgalley.
